BUDDHA．LISTEN
The project Buddha．Listen (佛聽．我心) is purposed to participate a competition of an illustration award which is held by the Chinese smartphone brand OPPO. The winner’s drawing will be actually used as the lock screen of the smartphone.

This time the work was created using a combination of hand drawing and digital drawing. The hand drawing of fish and wave is my old work. It is taken from my project Ink Dyed (墨染) which is about the personal experience of receiving the strange gazes due to having tattoos. You can find it in my project 01. Go check it If you are interested.
The overall concept of this work is more biased towards Japanese style. The inspiration is based on Chinese Dunhuang Caves and the Ukiyo-e, mainly referring to colours. I selected a sentence written by Hongfei Wu (吳虹飛) which is 'Buddha, you are alone forever. Please take me into yours, the lonely life.' (佛，你萬世孤獨／請收容我，寂寞一生) to match the expression and atmosphere of the drawing.
